In homage to Wellington's iconic General Post Office that once occupied the site, we created a restaurant born from a love of intrepid travel abroad, discovery and culture. GPO is a culinary window to the world.
The GPO kitchen tells a vibrant story of vivid colours, bold tastes, and fragrant aromas. Influenced by southern European, Levantine, and Mediterranean cuisines, our menu features smaller plates inspired by tapas and mezzes, alongside larger dishes like hand-rolled pastas, pasture-raised meats, and locally sourced organic produce. We highlight the best seasonal seafood, ethically sourced from Aotearoa's pristine waters, showcased in our signature 'fruits of the sea' platter. Our sustainable and thoughtful sourcing connects us to the community through partnerships with like-minded local suppliers.
